My pets always keep me entertained
And my pets always make me proud
Their bonds of friendship are steadfast
Their compassion shames ours somehow
Our oldest canine Chica Blanca is now 20 years old
She is now hard of hearing, and she has gone blind
But she has the best friends that anyone could have
Her animal friends are both compassionate and kind
Her animal friends watch over her when she sleeps
And they let me know whenever she needs any help
They will come and find me, and they lead me to her
They keep vigil at her side, her friends are truly swell
In this photo, Flower The Cat is watching over her
As is Little Guerro The Dog, who is lying by her side
At 20 years of age, Blanca has the best friends possible
Just watching them watching over her, fills me with pride

And When She Was Rescued, She Chose Me As Her Friend
Litlle Guerro The Dog, He Befriends Both People and Animals
And Both of Them, Will Remain Blanca’s Friend, Until The End
Animals Are Truly Such Agreeable Friends;
They Ask No Questions, They Pass No Criticisms
If Only We Human Beings Were More Like Animals,
What A Much Better World This Might Possibly Be

lovely tribute to the empathy animals have for one another. I'm with Ed .. not that I am surprised that chica is 20, but that we have enjoyed tales of little chica for 20 years, may you, and we, enjoy her for another 20!!

Besides Blanca, Age 20, I Also Have My Good Old Turbo Dog From The Navajo Indian Reservation, Who Is Now 17 Years Old. My Beloved Cat Buddy, Who I Found As A Tiny Newborn Kitten, Lived To 20 Years of Age, and I Now Have A Marvelous Cat Named Sweetie Who Is 17 Years Old.
I Wish That All Of My Pets Could Live To Be 30 Like Good Old Maggie Did.
When I listen to my heart, it just goes thump…thump…thump. It's only in my mind (brain) that I can create compassionate thoughts, along with all the other distractions that set us aside from other animals like dogs and cats.
