A Beasty Boy Christmas

Christmas Is Always Fun At Our House

-->‘Beasty Boy’

A Term of Endearment
To Describe The Very Lovable,
But Very Often Uncivilized Orphans
That I Have Rescued and Brought Home

'Twas three weeks before Christmas, and all through our house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even little Speedy, our mouse.

The stockings were all now hung by the chimney with care,
And my wife’s lovely wrapped gift boxes were everywhere.

The Beasty Boys were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of doggie treats danced in their heads.

My exhausted spouse in her ‘kerchief, and I in my wool cap,
Had just settled down for a long, much needed, winter's nap.

When down in the living room there arose such a clatter,
We both sprang from our bed to see what was the matter.

Now away to the staircase we both flew like a flash,
And what we saw there, soon had her horridly aghast.

The Beasty Boys, being led by our very devilish Little Jack,
Had now all decided to look for some Pre-Christmas snacks.

They were joyously ripping open boxes, searching for treats,
I immediately began laughing, when I heard my spouse shriek.

“Stop It, Jack! Stop It, Highway! And You Stop It, Shadow!
And You Mister! You Get Your Butt Down There! Now Go!”

So off I now quickly dashed, nearly plummeting down the stairs,
But Beasty Boys are extremely fast – ripped boxes everywhere.

All four of us are now, yet once again, in The Dreaded Dog House,
Life Can Be Interesting With Beasty Boys, and A Perturbed Spouse.

And now, as the four of us finish off the last of the Candy Canes,
I am contemplating how I can get her to forgive us, yet once again.

Yes, Ed, you have every reason to love your "boys" as devilish as they are...and I am sure your beautiful, loving wife is not as Mean or tall as you tell us of...won't take more than maybe a dinner out to repair this recent rift...this was a very nicely done story, Ed...-e-
