Poem Artwork

If you want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it. Mother Teresa

SAINT

She peered down thru the heavens, a tear was in her eye
Felt the pain and anguish, that made the earthly cry
Watched their troubled conflicts, knew they yearned for more
Shared their burdens, by the many, deep within her core

Visions of her essence, appeared to purest eyes
Fear and trouble called to her, as the pious cried
Comfort was the answer, to prayers prayed in the night
To vision earth with heaven, assuring hope and light

She graced the lonely corners, that held the humbled few
With words of love and promise, that life would mend anew
But only few would listen, beyond their anguished thoughts
Her message was a whisper, disguarded as their loss

Her dialect was foreign, as most were deaf by fear
A saint that walked among us, so clear on eathly sphere
And none would take the comfort, she offered for their blight
They passed right thru her message...those blind within their sight

Mother Teresa was truly a saint. I admired her more than any one I've ever felt admiration for. This is a precious tribute.

Lady A,
This is an awesome tribute. I know a man who met Mother Teresa.
He said, " She was a very frail and tiny woman but somehow you could feel a Supreme Presence all around her."

Teresa was the epitome of a purpose-driven life: her faith and love eminated from above and so her hope was never diminished by the desperation she lived amongst or wearied by the cynics. When asked whether or not her work was a "drop in the ocean", she is said to have replied: "Ah, but the ocean is made up of many drops"... showing that it is possible and important not to be disempowered by the vast overall picture, but to be empowered by the little we can do in our "own small corner" to shed light and hope instead of dark and despair! It has never ceased to amaze me that we lost both Mother Teresa and Princess Diana within a matter of days of each other: two very differing lights and, perhaps, who knows, spirituality, and yet both major influences for some good in their ways. Gives us all hope, I guess!! Thought-provoking write, Anita - not least of all the heart-wrenching visual aid. Thank you for this. Kate xx PS Not for a job, but an interview for a course!

Mother Teresa was an anachronism, A special person!
We don't need Popes to make Saints, according to Christ
we are all saints. Mother Teresa was someone to be singled
out as a holy humanitarian, one who surrendered herself to
Christ as only very few are called to do. No one can ever
understand the things she did just as they couldn't understand Christ. I can count on one hand the people we know that have
died to themselves as Mother Teresa did. She is in a different higher category than saint.
