Poem Artwork

Poems written Sunday night while watching TV, with a glass of wine, my journal and a pencil, picking up a phrase here and there from what was being said, resulted in the following writes.

BROKEN DREAMS CAN REARRANGE

In the cracked mirror of broken dreams
So much is lost, as it once seemed
Shattered mosaics by stand of choice
True to image, mute of voice

Fickled visioned loyalties
Passed to only those who see
By pose, by place, by closer stance
Such mirror cracked, such dreams by chance

Yet freedom comes of broken dreams
Mosaics scattered hopes and themes
And as reflections ever change
Broken dreams can rearrange

WORD BABES WITHIN MY SHADOW

I mourn all the words I've lost
Like babes fell from the womb
Lost before first breath
In the air of tombs

For all that called me mother
Let us scribe your dreams
I felt yet never touched
Thru dusk of limbo streams

Stay babes within my shadow
I'm warmed to know your near
For when I feel your light
My pen will write....you clear

War Vs Murder

How long does it take to die
When lead by another hand
And who is to decide
Who lives or who is damned

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gut Feelings
Addicted to the truth
Beyond comprehension
A dialogue of silence
Lost above suspension
Echo, echo nothing
Redundant in the shadows
In the folds of never
Dormant deep below
Drummed upon the ear
Damaged by the sounds
Addicted comprehensions
Felt with out a sound
Loans of Lust
Lies are the currency of the world
Pennies of pity
Nickles of neglect
And dollars of doubt
Lies are the currency of the world
With banks full of blame
Loans of lust
And interests ignored
Lies are the currency of the world
Debts of depression
Interest of ignorance
Yielding yesterday's yearnings
To be tallied
On a balance sheet of
Automatic renewal
Lucky me
I have
Empty pockets
Brilliant writes penned in the flickering light! Almost missed these, such a huge torrent of mail in my box. So glad I found this!
Deep and I must say very relevant. Thank you, Anita. Saved...
Yanno, Anita, you make it difficult to comment when you slam my brain with such glorious diversity. Each of these poems is a stand-alone gem and should be praised for its strength and beauty, but instead, I will simply say Great Job, Lady_A, I love your writings.
Take care,
Sherry
"Empty pockets"...
that's your name...
when the time's up
you're not to blame.
Your wisdom is hundreds and hundreds of years old. You remind me of my daughter Mariah ( here at AD she's Mariah Rowse). She stays silent most times until she writes. Then the wisdom just pours.
Love,
What in the world was in that wine?
This was indeed thought-provoking Anita and excellently penned.
You might have "empty pockets," but you truly have a blessed creative mind!
A little wine and your TV have truly inspired your writer's soul, Anita - and I think I like 'Word Babes Within My Shadow' the best.
