The older you get, the clearer it is to realize, we are the sum of what came before, and build from there....Pax A

That Held Up All The Rest

My soul was like a city
The "capital" of me
Surrounded by the slums of loss
Meek spirit's poverty

With roads connecting regions
Some prospered , others not
Depending on my season
And harvest of my lot

The lay of roadways has not changed
Yet run in disrepair
The buildings and the sidewalks
Stand worried by the ware

Echoes fill the cornors
Conquered by the winds
All that marked this life before
Is somewhere deep within

Buried on the sands of time
Were new levels seated
Upon the last, and crumbled
Faulted.....yet.....oh so needed

The first was built without a plan
And tho, not a success
It was the soul, with outstretched  hand
That held up all the rest

Wise thoughts. The soul is the foundation and we build on it. Great imagery. Victor

Your glorious works always intriuge me so deeply, for I know your an ancient soul filled with adventure..It's incredible how many of our true kindred souls from the past pop up on the den..Thinking we don't one another, well that's a laugh..We have known one another eons...Ancient friend I tip my hat to you!!

Eternal Love, Dove
