From women's eyes this doctrine I derive:
They sparkle still the right Promethean fire~ Shakesphere

EYE'S CONFESSION

Beyond the mask of frail expression
Thoughts roar with entitled rein
Words betray 'neath eye's confession
Habits ride on deadened pain

Locks hang rusted, jailing summaries
Keys within short stretch away
Mild hopes for some appease
Off parole....they run astray

Verbal mayhem of eruption
Spewing lava thru the sky
Prudence tempering corruption
Silent lips and tearing eyes

This is so deep...and so, so true! I am in awe of your comparisons
and yet, I have always felt them as such...
...I'm keeping rusty locks and I'm gonna loving every minute of this incarceration!
Women rock!
Love and Peace~

Love the language in this, Anita. My mind and eyes can readily follow it's conceptual logic and my heart can taste its sweetness. But can I replicate in words what the eyes receive or is my tongue an adequate translator of eyes flashed message?? I think not, sadly, and, though verbose on paper, I find myself often tongue-tied, believe it or not, fumbling for expression. My eyes DO tell all, but they are often as confused as my thoughts behind them! :)) Gorgeous write, thank you. K xx

the eyes translations are perceptions only
we see with inner sense what truth is just as the dimension of this poem is felt then realized

There is a sharp contrast at work within this inner sanctum: frailty versus rage.
Outward appearance betraying spiritual and emotional wars within. We read in Psalm 55:21 of the individual whose words spoken are like butter, but war rages in his soul. This refers to deceit, which is far removed from the mood conveyed in this poem, which is melancholiness.
I mention the Psalm because we do at times walk about draped in a paradoxical overcoat. Lennon once sang, 'Although I laugh and act like a clown, beneath this mask I am wearing a frown'. We can identify with this lyric quite readily. The name of this song is 'I'm a Loser'. He did not mean that he was a failure, just that he was not what he appeared to be. This poem prompts self reflection along similar lines, for that it is bold and honest - refreshing traits in a day of superficiality.

I hope the last verse is not your present portion in life.

Anita,

The rhyme and flow are perfect. Some say, "we musn't believe everything we see."
