I told my secrets to the sea
I told my secrets to the sea
Poured words upon the winds
I let my thoughts fly high and free
Released all held within
And then the waves slapped in betray
Returning my release
To taunt me and then swirl away
Denying heartfelt peace
My anger grew, sea splashes threw
My secrets on the shore
Saddended by that traitor blue
I'll share not, anymore
That's why I simply stand at the edge of the shore and just skim my thoughts across the advancing waves of life. Some of these sink to the bottom of forgetfulness while others are washed ashore to be picked up and skimmed once more. My memory's still too full.
Ah yes... her spiteful face. We must never forget that she can turn and mean and nasty with it. But this is such beautiful poetry as ever, Anita. Full of poise, grace, rhythm, balance... and an awful lot of wisdom, beauty and freshness of concept within. Bless you, Kate xx
well you get the "eye-catching title of the day award" from me anyway.. And what a surprising, original and unexpected insight into those who Do NOT romance the sea. Conrad's comment comes from one who has spent time "sailing on it" not standing by it (I've read "Typhoon")And yes, I too when often "blue" have found the "lie" to that old myth: "you just need a beach walk!?"

hmm i am so glad that i read this work. powerful words as the waves both cleanse and yet destroy. when we weather the storms or tides, then the sea becomes an ally in our life, but when we cast our thoughts to the waves and they fall in the depths, then truly we have been betrayed.
So many betrayals in life... until one discovers that security is an illusion and finds the courage to trust and venture to live. It's the only way to take THE real journey.
Fantastic Anita, this one is a definate masterpiece, I love the cadence, the image projected and the honest open feelings that come trhough so clearly of pain and aguish. Very well done.
