How much hurt can one man take
Before his heart begins to break
Much more than he will ever know
Because through hardships, he shall grow
This world may kick him, ‘til he’s blue
But, he will smile and saunter through
Within his core, much strength resides
To carry him across life’s tides.
A man can harbor so much good
Even if he’s misunderstood
He works all day into the night
To make his family’s futures bright
On darker days, this world may snide
But, still, the man maintains his pride
Having measured to every test
Man is assured he’s done his best.
How much hurt can this life fuel
Before the man becomes a fool
Not nearly enough to succeed
Each man is kind and strong, indeed
His candor doubles as a light
To guide him through life’s bitter fight
Assuring that he’ll always cope
Because God blessed his soul with hope.

Beautiful sentiments expressed herein!
Cryssa
when a pretty girl just pouts a please
or a new born baby held in his arms
can make him babble with her little charms
a father will fight in wars untold
but cry as his daughter's wedding does unfold..
Sorry just had to add a few words to your lovely poem and I hope you don't mind...
Fee
be so very blessed.
