Never forget I am here by your side
Each time this world leaves you tested and tried
I worry about you and I feel your pain
Whenever your sunlight succumbs to the rain
I understand the complex days you go through
Because I have sometimes found myself there, too
Please know that whenever you feel you must cry
My shoulders will readily be standing by.
Never forget that you are in my heart
From there, I promise you will never part
Regardless of pitfalls or moments of strife
You will always have a dear place in my life
Together, we have ridden many a wave
We’ve stood by each other when times appeared grave
And yet, here we are; our friendship remains strong
In each others’ eyes, neither one can be wrong.
Never forget how much you mean to me
Our lives form two branches upon the same tree
We lean on each other in great times of sorrow
Assured we’ll uncover a brighter tomorrow
I know what you’re thinking; you know my thoughts well
Through good times and bad, in Heaven or hell
I’ll be here beside you, each day ‘til the end
You’re my true companion and my trusted friend.
