I dreamt of children when I was young

Loved you long before your birth

Felt the thrill of anticipation

Wonder Fragility  Interdependence

Every moment watched Cherished

Knowing your Soul Your vibration

Seeing your effect on others Theirs on you

Delight Wonder Joy

Evolving Growing Being Knowing

Expressing so much as an individual

Slightly afraid of yourself and all you can be

So creative Intelligent Inspiring

Growing independent Strong Opinionated

Self-willed  Both reassured and insecure

Not quite believing a mothers praise

Yet hoping Trusting it is true

The parents know nothing phase is hard

For both of us you know Testing convictions

Losing sight of your own Of what you know to be true

Angry with yourself Angry with me

Struggling blindly to find yourself

To be the adult Responsible All knowing

Unforgiving of your own failures

Unwilling to know they are just lessons

I wait

I watch

I hope

I know

Slowly surely like the butterfly

From your Cocoon you will emerge Find your wings

Find the Truth of who you are Believe in yourself

Believe my praise Become all you can be
