From Where I Stand I See
Crystal Sunlight dancing on an ocean
Rippled by the breeze
Moon and tide drawing it to shore
Birds skimming the surface
Dive bombing the depths
Dolphins play shattering a million diamonds
With each joyful leap
Fish skip some unseen predator to avoid
Gentle clouds drift by
Silent Warriors Riding the thermals
Bringing depth and beauty to the winter day
Crisp breeze
Chasing mortals to towel or jumper
Carries on its wings
Hints of summer memories
Barbeque Picnics Hot Chips
Seagulls cry for the memory too
For few are the revellers with treats
When days turn cold and winters chill
Turns visits short
Snapshot of the beauty of this place and time
I assemble each picture within my mind
A slide show of magnificence
From where I stand
And see
A beam of sunlight
Through the clouds
Lights a path upon the sea
That some grateful fisherman
May find his way to port
Through cloud and raging sea
He has not seen what I have seen
On this protected shore
He battered by the oceans wrath
No safe harbour or crystal sea
No celebration of nature and of self
Can feel
As I do in this moment rare
I stand upon the waters edge
See beauty all around
He stands upon bow of boat
Seeing nothing more than challenges
How different are our views
One seeing the adversary of Nature
The other sees It's awe
I nurtured by the beauty
See the pain
But know life's storms are brief
He confronted overwhelmed
May never find the quiet of that shore
That lies within
For always
Our view of life
Is determined by where we stand
And I
From where I stand
SEE
