Poem Artwork

Do you remember
Living in another time,
Where peaceful, gracious souls
Attended you?
Do you remember
Your Father’s comforting hand,
Holding yours,
Passing the time,
And the love you felt in your heart,
Nearly bursting forth from your chest?

Do you remember
The choices that you made;
To be either man or woman,
In a family of your choice?
Have you considered
Why it is that you are here,
Or the lessons
That you came to learn?
Do you remember
The promises that you made,
To be of a righteous mind,
And to bring kindness
To those you meet?

Do you recall,
Your promise to return home
To your Father,
Whose love is forever strong?
Do you remember
The map
That He placed in your hand,
And the waypoints
Marked along your path?
Do you remember
The warnings,
And the traps
That you were to avoid?

And now your Father
Waits for you,
Worrying like fathers will.
He is ever vigilant;
Often,
You feel His presence in the room.
What sense would it make
To defy Him,
Or to become lost,
Somewhere along the way?
Why would you ever want to hurt Him,
As He guides you,
On each,
And every day?
You are a child of privilege,
Who has left a mansion
In another place,
You have only to follow His instructions,
Until once again,
You meet Him face to face.

Superb! I often think of my other home...I miss it sometimes. My poem, To the Brink, is about this same subject. Thanks for the uplifting write...

Absolutely beautiful and inspiring. A lite rhyme takes you home on certain lines...makes it sound polished and perfect. But more than that, It's like a big "Duh!" in my mind--setting me straight again.

This is certainly one to include in your book. How's it coming along? --Charlie
