I’ll do a favor for a nickel,
Two bits will get you three,
My time is what
You are paying for;
My goodwill is yours for free.
What then is the difference,
Between a favor and a chore?
A favor might help to make a new friend,
But a chore only leads to more.
What then will it be,
Two chores for you, or three?
Maybe a favor would do the trick:
A nickel, a dime, or the full two bits.
What, my friend, will it take,
To make you happy on this fine day?
I guess you had better
Make it four,
Two bits for three favors,
Then a goodwill chore.
And on my way back home,
I’ll stop for an ice cream cone
To cool off after my busy day;
Three favors for three flavors,
And a butterscotch dip,
Then I’ll be on my way.
