Alone with strangers,
High in the western sky,
Observant of every detail,
Am I,
As seven lives
Drift before my eyes.
I remember tremendous battles,
High on the Scottish plains,
When men fought their fights
With honor,
Although war still sings
A common refrain.
I see vessels below,
Charting their courses
On the deep blue sea,
As I recall hours on the bridge
In the stormiest nights,
Fear felt,
Which crew did not see.
I remember starving
In Calcutta,
And fleeing the fires of Rome,
Riding free on the back
Of a great stallion,
And sitting on the Russian throne.
Now I am traveling
Ever westward,
Completing the circle of life,
Merging as one,
With from where I have come,
As all my days
Drift into dreamy night.
Be always safe,
Karen
