Poem Artwork

Children to whom no promises are made,
Know well that promises are broken,
But the children of privilege
Demand each day
That all their promises are kept.

Avenues to greatness
Exist for all
But impediment is greater for some.
Fail not before you have begun,
Dear child,
For while short,
Life can be so very long.

Nurture your dreams
On a star,
The other side of the sun,
Where seen by none
But you,
Master of all
Living things.

Accept not the words
Of the panderer,
Whose hundred excuses
Give you reason to fail,
Rather, accept only
That
Which you know to be true
As runs deep,
And defines who you are.

Lightening,
Beautiful artwork of the gods,
Whose power touches desiccated earth,
Spawning fire in the dead of night.
Some are left blighted by destruction,
Others had naught to claim,
One falls victim to disaster,
For another,
Lies rebirth in the flames.

There is opportunity in all,
And you are your own master, good son.
Forgotten promises mean little
In the grander scheme, my child,
For your dreams
Are nurtured on a star,
Somewhere across the sun.

Even though things look dark, always look for the sun...that was the message that I got from this poem of wise words.
I am always uplifted by your...poems...writings...maybe the more correct word is personal revelations. Each time I read your work I feel as though you are allowing us to see a little of your soul that you just couldn't help from overflowing onto a page...

Sounds very much like a personal revelation of sorts-- holy stuff, that. --Charlie
