Masked Christians on the road
In front of me
Finding only rust
Where the gold should be,
No blood is drawn
Nor bruise that I can see
But the exaggerated pace
Has them breathing so heavily.
‘Onward Christian soldiers’,
Stay the course
And you will see
That the flames of Hell
Have no true hold on any of thee.
For those so angry
The energy is wasted,
For precious metal
Brings you nothing,
With the Eucharist untasted.
We follow a road
From the womb
To the grave,
Its path everlasting
Whether damned or saved.
Some care, some don’t,
Some never had a chance
And most-likely won’t.
But the reality is,
With what has been passed on,
That we are rapidly becoming
A planet full of Nones.
My fault is great
But I harbor no hate
And I am happy to leave
Vengeance to the Lord,
But somewhere out there
Dark matter seeks to rise,
And it settles its scores with the sword.
I am not worthy
Of any eternal reward
For my goodness
Carries little
Of noteworthy report,
But possibly I’ll be rescued
By our Benevolent Lord
As perhaps will others
Of their own accord,
But until that day
I will solemnly pray,
And look to the Heavens
As I patiently await
That glorious day!
I would wager (without any cash) that the Christians and non-Christians have suffered equally with these pandemics of destruction and unemployment wandering like earthquakes across the land. The randomness of these natural events would suggest that there is no guiding purpose, except for us to use our collective intelligence to come up with ways to prevent such things from happening unnecessarily.
