If a race were to be conducted
Between an earthworm,
A trite offspring of earth,
And a crab, the son of oceans,
The primitive earthworm
Would surely beat the crab
Due to its tenacity
Of a single-minded creature
And ability to focus
On the unity of purpose.
Why is this so? In fact,
The problem is in excess
Of the crab’s abilities
To move equally fluently
To the left and to the right,
This or that side,
With its full set of eight legs,
But without keeping its mind
On one thing to chase.
Another reason why
The earthworm beats its rival,
The multi-leg crab, is that
According to the scheme
Of interaction between
The five main elements,
Earth, symbol of management
And full control, wins Water,
Embodiment of preservation.
Besides, the records suggest
That no matter how large
A number is, eight or nine,
All return to the primordial one,
All of them, without exception.
