The doctrine of contemplation,
Or what is known as Chan or Zen,
Implies seeing things in fine details.
The myriad things are all exist
Within the Dharma's body
To be perceived through dreams,
Mirages, flashes of lightning,
Shadows and their half-shades. . .
Some are like a night fireflies,
The short-living mushrooms,
The morning dew transient,
But some have plenty of guts,
Ability of a true thunderbolt;
Therefore, no matter what,
Do what you do as you see fit
To prove yourself in your Zen.
