Poem Artwork

He who takes his full drive

Along the Road of Life

With its flash Milestones,

And there finds his ease

And enjoyment, is exposed

To so many contingencies:

Union brings on separation;

Success leads to overthrow;

Sharp corners call forth

The use of the file; honour

Provokes critical remarks;

Active exertion makes failure;

Wisdom is fraught with plots;

Inferiority promises defiance,

And so forth, and back and forth,

And back and forth.

Where is the possibility

Of further continuance

In any of these conditions?

Remember this, my friend,

While you're driving in full

Along the Road of Life

With its flash Milestones.

Love this. It's so true, no matter what we do, it is never enough, and never right enough. You are spot on with this one, Alex. John

Just back from a trp, Alex. So I ask what if remembrance forces your inner eye off the outer road?

The Wisdom of W. E. B. Du Bois (Philosophical Library Series) by Aberjhani

In his many novels, poetry, histories, editorials, plays, and letters, W. E. B. Du Bois poured so much of his blindingly incandescent soul into his writings that no single volume could ever contain all of his words or works. In fact, had not the his
