When one cannot be powerful,
One must choose to be dainty;
When one cannot be aggressive,
One has to make a virtue of sagehood.
Only once in a blue moon
Do we meet a Robert Burns
Or a Victor Hugo or a Mark Twain,
Whose distinguished pen
Suggests to us the untiring energy
Of a lion and an elephant at the same time.
That is what the last few centuries
Of prodigious labors can do to mankind.
Very well said, but I favor the blues artists of the first half of the 20th century, the balladeer's and change agents of rock 'n' roll and the dunning rhyme of hip-hop and rap.
Peace be with you
