This is a poem for my wife, Janet, on our forty-fourth wedding anniversary.
Anniversary Thoughts
It’s August—
The nineteenth to be precise.
Forty-four years have come and gone.
We’ve been on the highest mountains
And traversed the deepest vales.

Intermingled with an occasional thorn.
Dare I say, at times we’ve been reviled,
However, devotion has persistently prevailed.
Too, age has more or less altered us daily,
Yet adoration remains, undying and beautiful.
Thanks for being there for me—always.
Delightful dreams, my precious,
And happy anniversary.
