Smooth Sailing
Where will faith lead you, are you prepared?
Are you prepared for the unexpected – even failure!
You followed all the messages, confirmations and signs!
But has the way been blocked, dashed and corrupted.
You stand with your head in your hands weeping - to the sky.
“Why lead me so far? Why shine as a light on my path that leads to –
nothing! Why have you done this?”
It went silent, silent as the grave.
You called again!
“Why do this, I heard your voice calling - I followed!”
Silence again.
You fell to your knees; you were embarrassed you were so sure.
You had heard.
You had heard His call – so clearly!
You told everyone you knew.
You knew what God had in store for you – but still the silence.
The days grew longer and darker, the shutters fell.
Heaven had closed its mouth – it did not speak.
The grey light in your mind was out – it had died!
No spark left, no strength in your arms.
You reached the ground with a sickening sigh.
“No care from you!” you cried “no word, no comfort!”
You were frustrated and angry, lost and alone.
Embers burnt your eyes to tears, your throat choked.
You fell in silence – the silence of helplessness.
There was a pause that seemed many years – You lost count.
The curtains would be drawn back by a finger, you would look.
You wanted to search the road. The path to follow.
Silence, silence, silence – a horrible dream
You gave up trying!
You sank into the arms of the One – the only love of your soul.
Then you heard Him again. It was beyond reckoning.
It was such a joy! – You never questioned Him- you dare not!
But he said “See I’m still here – I am always here!
You followed my voice till destruction came!
Now you are ready to do every task I have for you.
Follow me! – No matter where I lead!”
You got up and stood with your guide!
