LITTLE ONE
Who, little one, are you? Name,
And from whence do you come?
Why are you lying lifeless
In the woods, near the road?
They say your eyes were blue.
What unimaginable horror
Filled them in those moments
Before they were shut forever?
Did you come from a loving home?
Or was it always a struggle? No dad
And mom fighting her own demons.
Did you have a teddy bear to cuddle?
Were you just out wandering
And lost your way like boys do?
Or were you pushed out of a car,
Abandoned, discarded uncaring?
Were you even alive, or had your soul
Left your body already, and so
You never knew how cold, how lonely
It was out there, all on your own..
Rest now, little one, be peaceful.
You are beyond whatever evil
Spat you out, made you a sacrifice,
Valued you so damned thoughtlessly.
Where you are now is total love,
And boys like you can spend their
Days as little boys always should:
Safe, cared for and protected.

at the heart..innocence betrayed and lost,
most likely murdered.
Thank you, Chip, for sharing.

It is ultimately heart breaking that such things happen in the world.
