I heard you crying
No one could Sleep
So I decided to go outside
to take a quick peek
I figured it was like every time before
You just wanted to come in my door
You surprised me this time
And I felt ashamed
All the names
I had said
and all the things
I had planned to do
The first was something
about grabbing a shoe
When I opened the door
No wagging tail did I see
No sad puppy eyes
Looking back at me
I followed your sound
and there you was
How many times
will you need rescued
before you learn
Your legs are short
and belly to fat
Sorry puppy, but fact is fact!
I found you where you had fell
Butt first in a five gallon pail
You was lucky this time
water just a few inches
The look on your face
left me in "stitches"
I brought you in
as you knew I would
Sad little puppy eyes
looking back at me
I dried you off
and wrapped you up
You naughty little
clumsy pup
I tucked you in
with my son this night
I know in awhile I'll
again have to run to see
what up.
Your poems make me want to go buy a darling puppy. Believe it or not, I once owned a little poodle named Dusty! I adored him, but someone stole him when he was 2 yrs. old. I opened my door just in time to see someone put him in their car and drive away. Your lab's so cute, just be patient and kind to him. Love him! LOL! Delightful poem. I enjoyed.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
Regardless of where you may be found in love this beautiful masterpiece can be
