A age old story that never grows old! The reason for Christmas often gets lost in all the paper and bow's. Crawl up close and let me tell you the story.......

Please scroll down, not sure what happened here but it doesn't want to come back up where it belongs! Sorry but I hope you enjoy it anyway!!!!

He grabbed an old book

pages worn and slightly torn

from years of reading

He wiped off the cover

as he called me over

I climbed upon his knee

settling down close

listening intently to

his deep baratone

and the story unfolded

It was a tradition

between Gramps and me

Me sitting on his knee

and he read the  story

of the Christ Child to me

He told me all about Mary

How she had knew no man

How she had concieved

a baby

Jesus was to be his name

Of how they had traveled

and when they found an inn

there was no room

so a manger was where

 he layed his head

A king was born that night

with Angels to hail his coming

a star to light the way

To our Savior

who's head lay in the hay

and how very proud

Mary must have been

to look upon this face

that was the heavenly son

Wise men came from the East

bearing gifts

paying homage to the

Child that had been sent

he read on about his life

and all he did while here

and went on to tell me

how man treated him out of fear

They took a man

who knew no sin

30 pieces of silver

A follower turned him in

Then hung hisself

ashamed from the sin

They nailed the Lord to a cross

Where he hung as

His life flowed from his veins

They knew that he was gone

but sent guards

to make sure his body remained

Placed in a tomb

a stone to block the way

Yes they had to be sure

that here his body stayed

Three days passed

I sat close listening to the story

it was quite

 as the dark cold night

And when I heard

that he had died

a silent tear dripped down

 from my eyes

Then I heard the most beautiful

part of all

The third morn

He arose

No grave could hold him down

No cross of mortal man

God the Father had the

Master plans

His mission

To save the soul's of Man

Gramps would pick me up

and tuck me in

and say a prayer with me

Always remembering

the Christ Child

and what his sacrifice gave

With his life

Man was saved
