a lot is going to be said about Lou Rawls wanna know what I remember from all those days of Lou Rawls? I worked in a Hollywood print shop Hollywood Boulevard I designed a letterhead for him not much, I know in the grand scheme of things but it was enough for me.
Lou was one of my all-time favorite singers.
He would sing a slow song as soft as a velvet rose.
Not many are like Lou.
For we'll be searching and searching the whole night though!

Great personal experience in a poem for a great man. I recall a neighbor girl, Greek origin, her parents and my parents good friends, who appeared on Sam Cooke’s albums because record companies felt that his picture on albums would affect sales.
I also honor Lou Rawls for his work for the United Negro College Fund. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

One of the greatest nights of my life- I was a teen aged drummer enthralled with Buddy Rich, and my Dad took me to see Buddy Rich and Lou Rawls at Buddy's Place in NYC. Lou sat on a bar stool a few feet from where we sat. It was a heaven filled night with a miracle of talent. I have Lou's and Buddy's autographs from that night.
Never forget it.
