I think many of us are more scared than angry, and dissappointed and stunned to think that our futures are so less likely to be secure, and our children and grandchildren whom we love so much are to bear the brunt of our mistakes, so yes, maybe guilt has to do with it also. None of these negative emotions is helpful though, and personally I will try to let them go as quickly as I can, but for some of us who see last night's results as a danger, we may need a little time before we can chirp along with the lovely bluebird of happiness in your picture. Surely we will though, as soon as we are able because that is the nature of humanity...we don't stay down! Be well, Kathy

I have a friend who said happiness comes in intervals and I tend to agree with that---nice poem, Jane.
I am surrounded by happiness. The world gets better every day as we learn more about it and challenge the status quo with new thoughts ideas and facts. I am refreshed to know so much more than I used to. For example, all I have to do to improve my atrocious spelling is to Google the word and find out what the right spelling is. No more long hours in dusty old libraries trying to find information not there. All I have to do is Google it and I've got all the research I need. Almost every facet of my life is easier at the click of a mouse button or telephone call or using my credit card instead of having to draw money out of my savings account.
Our mother Earth is in trouble, and we have to get off our unhappiness streak because we no longer will have the “stuff” we cherish so much, and start paying attention to mother nature and all of her little inhabitants that we've been beating up on so much for our own, “profit.” Once we understand these things, we all will be happier.
As for me, “What me worry?” Has been my slogan all along. Life is good. Hell is other people and their damn attitudes. I'm whistling along with you, sweet thing.
Jane, there are many people, some of whom are here in AD that should read your poem...The words are cheerful, positive, totally upbeat and cover a multitude of sins.
I am not angry. I am sad and in shock over the outcome of the election. My usual sunny, bright smile is clouded over today by gray skies of concern for America's future. I know my smile will return one day, but for now I am in mourning.
