Cut - Bleed - Feel

Poem Artwork

Don't cut
Yourself
You bleed
What need?
Just stop

When you
Cut you
Cut me
Me too
Just stop

You are so loved
Face it
Love sent above
Trace it
Just stop

You bleed
We feel
The pain
The pain

THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAD THING. I'VE GOT A CLOSE FAMILY MEMBER WHO IS A 'CUTTER'. WE ARE SO THANKFUL TO GOD WHEN THEY ARE EXPERIENCING A TIME OF QUALM...THEY'RE ON MEDS AND WE KEEP THEM IN PRAYER...IS ALL WE CAN DO. A HEARTFELT WORK THAT TOUCHES THE PAIN OF THOSE WHO HAVE TO WATCH. THANKS FOR SHARING, JANE. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

Physical pain as a substitude to relief mental pain, very well described by Carol already.

It's important to help them to take away the pain behind the pain

Those who cut themselves feel they are releasing pain...
Cutting is a way to try to cope with the pain of strong emotions,
intense pressure, or upsetting relationship problems. They may be dealing with feelings that seem too difficult to bear or bad situations they think can't change.

Support is important, added pressure incites the activity...

I read a hell of a book about cutting a long time ago and I think of it often even now. Such a self-destructive act, I can't imagine me doing that. I took my self-destructiveness in another direction for about two decades or longer.
