It's a never ending battle!

Poem Artwork

Take off those shoes
Now wipe those feet
Who really knows
What was on that street

I've seen some spit
I've seen some pee
In front of God
And in front of me

I wash these floors
To keep them clean
And free of germs
Which are sneaky beings

Go walk across
Where some dog shit
It got picked up
You just don't see it

So there I got
It off my chest
I wash these floors
And I try my best

Everything you do, you do with devotion.
I can hear you sing this song while cleaning the floors.
It really cheers me up

All I are rugs & I am sure they are a mess deep down, but I do vacuum then occasionally...when I see something growing off of them...;-) e

You got me singing this song. I always knew you were an obsessive, compulsive person, and now you proved it. I love to run barefoot in the street. I always took off my shoes upon entering the house, but never cleaned them other than to give them a good spit shine to rub that bacteria in. I'm not sure what I would do coming in barefoot from the street? For I could not take off my feet. ;-)

PS. In my wheelchair, my feet never touch the filthy ground. But every once in a while I smell something really foul and find that I have dog poop stuck in the cleats of my wheelchair wheels.

Yes, Jane, they do not stay clean long either...

Always,

Deborah

Hey! Doing your best is what you do. I can't imagine that you would not do your best. You can make a poem out of any subject I believe.
