Great Lakes "Tall Ships" annual festival. This is the first year that a Viking longboat was involved. Exciting!

Drakar docked stepping onto The creaking wood smelling of pitch Huge red sail proud screaming out loud "Fear me for I will plunder!" Old ropes tight to huge dock wall An old chest on the deck beckons The oars sit silently in wait The shouts of Vikings thunder Tight ropes loosed Drakar sets sail Proud she sails leading the way Into the wind shouts heard on land Sound longboat won't be put asunder Figurehead led I stood in wonder Jane Noponen Perinacci

Wow! Makes me want to know more about it. Is the boat old and from Scandinavia or is it new, either made here in the states or in Scandinavia. It seems like they have many shifts like this in the History Channel series The Vikings. But then they could all be just CGI.
