My wild berry bush keeps these thieves from bothering my refuse bin.

Sitting near the bamboo Looking at the moon Character with mask on Mrs. Rose Raccoon Round and fluffy young ones Follow her around With their little masks on Making not a sound Little thieves so cunning Come back every night Waiting by my back door Beggars such a sight Up into the bird bath Washing berries red Mrs. Rose Raccoon then Puts babies to bed Jane Noponen Perinacci

We so live now so separated from nature that it is small wonder that we feel delighted when we see animals nearby in the garden or house, especially the likes of raccoons with as you say their mask-like faces. Very cute. John

As long as you see Mrs Raccoon and her brood only at night, everything is cool, just if you see them in the day, call the animal control people as they are likely to have rabies...cute poem, I always enjoy fun writs...-e-

Okay. I know I commented on this poem earlier, but now it is gone. Strange. Oh well, everything is still okay with Mrs. Raccoon and her babies. She has fed them (thief that she is) and herself and now they have retreated where home for them resides.
