Worked in a carny 12 PM to 12 AM for about six days straight three years in my teens. During times when crowds were light, it was extremely boring. We were not allowed to run any rides because they all could be dangerous and required experienced operators.

You are so right about that last line. I can't imagine how tiresome it must be to run a merry-go-round for hours like that in town after town years on end. Hitting the pillow must be one of the best parts, perhaps after drinking a whole bottle of rotgut first.
