With so much distraction occupying most everyone's daily routine, it is indeed a blessing to know one's home is still a sanctuary and with the internet's vast reach, a wonderful place to continue the learning journey, at least for those who want it. "The great way is not difficult for those who have no preference."
Living close to train tracks, I have come to love the sound of their whistles blowing in the night as they pass through town. That and the other sounds you've described are as thoroughly enjoyable as your poem.
I love all those sounds of the night, but too bad the sound of the morning alarm clock had to spoil them all! Time for coffee and reality. Save the dreams for another night.
Oh yes, how I am out the door in the morning (after writing a poem) "for money" as you say, and then back in the even, to the "everlasting home" and the peace and quiet of the night. Glorious. Thank you for reminding me of what I have.
