I've always wondered about people who go off to the country to "find themselves." I grew up in the country and realized the self you find is who you are with people. Nature couldn't care less, so what self would you find in the woods? I always enjoyed the woods for the quiet and peace, but the challenges we need to overcome in life are in the living with people! That green cocoon was death and a real escape from life's challenges.
Looks like he found a warm snug bed to sleep in! Serially, I really like the way this one rhymed and gave that eerie feeling at the end. One of your best.
