Panic Room

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

 

Welcome to the panic room, the sign says. 

 There’s a light and a door in this room, if I'm lucky.

I have 10 minutes.

Except

I’ve been trying all my life

To make sense of this crazy maze

Only to sink down and down and down.

It’s your fault.

You brought it on yourself.

Do this, not that.

Videos instead of in person.

Texts instead of hugs.

Harsh words instead of a kind ear.

Missing out.

Missing.


Welcome to the panic room.

I can't imagine what it must be like trapped like this in a room not of your own devising to keep the bad guys out. I have to assume by your writing this that you are making a concerted effort to escape from that room filled with panic.
