The Journey

This poem briefly describes my journey through Miami, FL and Atlanta, GA. It also compares the two different states.

Bright yellow sun Friendly cheering birds Palm trees flowing left to right Cool bright blue seawater Pearly white luscious sand, What more could you ask for? The highest granite rock in the world Tallest trees I ever seen Sunny one day Rainy the next A diverse society Like no other, Could this really be? Born in the eye of the hurricane Raised in the pit of the peach An extraordinary optimistic Beautiful girl arose, From the chaos. Many memories shared many tears fell Hard to explain How I made it through, But the worst is yet to come. The Journey Linda L Clark 2011

Oh the wisdom in your last line, Linda. "But the worst is yet to come." In your bio you say you most would like wisdom, well...that line has wisdom. There is a tandum line to that, though....."the best is yet to come also".. believing that will help the journey. Wonder if the mountain of which you speak is Stone Mountain. I lived in Lawrenceville, GA for six years. I used to call those "tallest trees I've ever seen" toothpick pines, for compared to the Pacific Northwest pines, the trunks of the Georgia pines are very thin..... Also, welcome to the Authors Den; I hope you will find as many treasures in this soil as I have. Now you have added to that compost. Thank you ~~ Diana

determination, faith and a positive attitude are are main tools through the journey of life ... and yes, there will be many harsh if not intolerable conditions to be confronted ... hopefully, most memories will be have a positive atmosphere ... like the fluid nature of your poem and yes, welcome to the den ...
