It's about learning to take chances in life and love.

Poem Artwork

 I love, therefore I am

I see. therefore you awaken me

I touch.  therefore you tantalize me

I caress, therefore I know I can love

I am in need, therefore I am adequate

I give, therefore I have compassion

I must not fall, therefore my body clings

I fear, to be feared by my own shadow

What is real is within my own confines

Why can’t I break free and shine onto the sun’s horizon

A light being, vulnerable to every feeling, ready to be hurt and loved

This prison feels like it’s been here 1,000 years

I’m waiting to break free, yet in my wait remains a limber peruse

A dullness. A death.  An iniquity of selfless wonder.

Set me free, earthless bound, with all God’s traits

Tightly tucked inside of me, in awe of what is to come

Let me feel like I did when I was a child…falling off, not knowing where I’ll land

Take the worry away of what will happen, who will happen and why it happens.

I just wish to feel alive again, free with every moment as my best friend.

I wish to care again, to feel again, to love again.

Let me go back and feel the pain I inflicted, what I caused onto myself

Perhaps its recognition will open my eyes to see myself as I could be.

Perhaps it will teach me to dance in cadence with time not frail, as before.

Enjoying my seasons like that of each falling leaf, to glisten with luster and fall with beauty’s blessing.
