i pray today
for the millions
of homeless
dying before our eyes
may not one person
say to the poor
'you chose to be
living on the streets
eating out of garbage cans'
as we tenderly dry
the tears
of the most
unwanted on earth
may we see each soul
as our own father
mother sister an brother
every second
could be the last
of the poorest of the poor
dying before our eyes
i pray today
that the millions
of homeless
in desparate need
be offered
open hearts and arms
thru you and me
