When the Sun Sets
When the sun goes down
And we go to bed
When we close our eyes
I reflect on what was said
All those angry words
Fighting talk hurts
Maybe we were hasty
Maybe blunt and often curt
At the end of the day
All is said; all is done
I still thought I loved you
And you were the only one
After the screams and the swearing
When I put up my wall
You hit back at me
In the bedroom, bathroom and hall
I shut myself in, close, lock the latch
You shout, and yell; I cry
My tears, my fears, my fault
Yes? No? But I dare to ask why
You sleep on the sofa
I cry myself to sleep
You forget, you turn over
And enjoy your frolicking sheep

Happy New Year, Andrea!

painfully sad...........nicely done
Love Tinka
scenario at one time or another in our lives.
I have come to since follow the biblical advice to "Not let the
sun set with you in your anger." It works wonders.
A well written poem, dear girl.
A very powerful message and statement, Andrea.
So sad, sounds horiffic..
Hope the new year is you best-est, my little chum..
A very sad but so often the same scenario in many lives. They never change..it's not love..love doesn't hurt.
I just hope your writing from 'past' experience.
