Halloween fantasy becomes reality

The children were rounding the bend
dressed in their finest
costumes and masks
with candy bags out for all givers

They come to the door
of the large dark home
with lights out
and shadows everywhere

Expecting no one home
they ring the bell
and start giggling
in laughter and mirth

Suddenly the door opens
and the surprised kids
are greeted by a large imposing figure
wearing his own costume and mask

They giggled some more
and screamed out
trick or treat
only to find the man grinning weirdly

He reached out his
furred hand to tug at a child
and as the boy feels the arm
he sees this is no costume

The children begin screaming
and drop their candy
on their way out the front entrance
shouting monster at the top of their lungs
