Poem Artwork

ALLOW

Allow me my fatal flaw,
my undisclosed stain

Allow the enemy his tenderness,
a clouded eye that brims for beauty
and sunset in a lover’s arms

Allow this shady world to fail
its promise of perfection

Allow bright Heaven to fulfill
what’s perfectly unexplained

Allow yourself the right to choose
contentment or dis-ease,
here now and ever after;

for all that really matters is
that it’s well with your soul

fine, fine writing, Kate. my favorite hymn in church used to be "It Is Well With My Soul" and you say so much with the "allow me" and "allow the enemy." the repetition of the title word really gave this a mood and flow all its own, too. wonderful all the way around! Dawn

Agreeing with Peter, you are AMAZING! Acceptance is one step short of perfection, a perfect flaw in forgiving eyes.
Magnificent Kate...

Oh, Kate! Could you possibly have said this any more eloquently? Your words fall to the page like honey from a dripper and your perception of what is real and important, is spot on. The more we allow our thoughts to expand into further dimensions, the more clearly we will see the reality of this life.
Take care,
Sherry

you allocate a vista where a heightened state of being permates the depths of intellection your have so eloquently described in this poem ... if we allow these precepts to surface and endure all our souls will indeed benefit ...

to allow an enemy his tenderness has got to be among the most difficult achievements. I hope that I am able to do that one day. I'm truly trying. Your poem really hit me. Your thoughts are so on target.

Oh my
your first two lives are an opening and a beginning, to go beyond, witghout the public unveiling, like a secret till the grave. And who is to say, how deep a stain is.....one person might not find it visible, another might see it, but not think its that bad, and a third, will hold it as your merit., all in the eye, right>
But the thing is, its all up to ourselves

Allow yourself the right to choose
contentment or dis-ease,
here now and ever after;

this dis-ease is something I have recently learned about
terrible thing it is

this poem is so wise, and written so clear from a brilliant, mind

ty for this

You're much too young to be pondering such. However, I commend the longing to understand our human values leading to the rewards of death, which you petition. These are gasps in the struggle to understand the path, on which I'm not qualified to point or lead you there. I do allow you to proceed, however.
I'm wondering how your writing could have brought forth my words while admiring yours.

With all man's toys of war and money for greed, beauty and beasts... when we die we leave with nothing no matter the material. We all need to ponder the paths we took to death for afterwards...the sameness changes and those who win are the ones with sumple treasures and compassion. Your poems are always far ahead in thought than some. I admire your heart and the way in whuch you ture it around to fit everyone's eye.
Love,
Susan
