EBB AND FLOW
Love’s life is ebb and flow:
rhythm, counterbalance, tension;
a closeness not spatial but special,
that, if not outwardly evident, is
inwardly apparent.
A tide of time and space brought together
in peaks and troughs of life’s experience;
shoreline shingle, gathered by pounding surf
and kissed by jealous foam.
Love is the draw of sand and sea,
the face of the moon its gravitational pull,
each held perfect and suspendedly inanimate.
Seek not love’s endless flood
but softly inhabit the gentle eddy
which kindles by degrees fresh energies
of its coming tidal wave.

OH, KATE!!! The entire poem is superb...but this last 'summary'
verse is absolute perfection...and that is no hype.
I, too, like yourself have been so busy that I rarely get to
write comments on AD. But I sure loved this poem when I came
across it, and had to tell you that.
Slow down, pretty lady, as life is very short (maybe I will even
take my own advice some day...like today?)
Wise words written well. I came by looking for your birthday wishes for your daughter so I could say Happy 18th. Guess I missed them. :-) Well, congrats to you to see her thus far. ~~Nordette

This is so beautiful has a blend of nature, love, and spiritual awarness.. "Love’s life is ebb and flow:

I was blessed on your page today.. Kate :)
Your words ebb and flow and soothe the soul...oh, Kate, what they do to me! A beautiful, beautiful write, from a beautiful, beautiful poet whom I'm honored to call friend.
Ever keeping the steady course, Kate, you remind us it is not the huge moments in our relationships that make them so special but the tender subtleties that bring rebirth to our feelings and act as a bellows upon an eternal flame. Another beauty from your magical pen.
Take care,
Sherry
the flow of your thoughts ebbs and flow, forming a wonderful wave of images inhabiting the inspired motif of this poem ... fine tuned this poem nicely!
You certainly have the passion of nature running through your veins. I adhere to every word as poetry like this is a serious passion for me. I'm all over the rhythn of the tides, the waterfall...rain...just anything fluid that has a passionate beat. You have my attention with this write. You need to send this to poor Feelix Perry whose in hospital in Nova Scotia. He would love this pen of yours.
Always a fan!
Susan
I am lost for beauty and magic within your words, as you stir the soul to hallowed heights of bliss and ecstasy...
A fabolous rework that has stood the test of time..
Your innate strength lies within your cerebral vision and touch, which transcends the mundane, to connect with the ethereal and aesthetic seams of life..
God Bless
