AT JERRY’S POINT


we walked onto the saltflats
in the absence of water,
spring tide at it’s lowest ebb.

Venturing out into the bay,
I summoned winds,
commanded waves,

then, whistling, turned
and headed for shore,
calling the sea to heel:

the shallows another gundog
trotting obediently behind me.

There is a feeling of power from within your thoughts which provke emotion and sense of wonder...it is so when we venture upon the sands and waves of this world which belongs....

to Nature and God...

...your wishes move waters...and I listen to the sound...from an ocean so much beauty in force...found turning in this fine poetic piece. ...I find a tranquil inner world within your words Kate.

Now THAT
is a sea poem!

...and what a powerful woman/goddess you must be... to command the waves and have them obey...

But a graceful woman knows about timing-- that it is everything-- knowing when to command is a sure sign of a woman who knows how to be obeyed... it's the law, afterall... the law of a woman's nature...

This is absolutely beautiful...so tranquil and peaceful...with a sense of spirituality to it...at least that is how the ocean always makes me feel.

As an old beachcomber from years past, I love exploring the low tides and high to see what lovely treasures and mysteries have been washed up to lay at my feet. I love the smell of brine and the soft fogs that roll in along our North Atlantic shores. This write dear Kate brought that to mind and I wished we could have shared that landscape in reality as clearly as you offered it on paper. Well done.
