Poem Artwork

When sundown pales the sky,
I wanna hide a while, behind your smile,
And everywhere I'd look, your eyes I'd find.

For me to love you now,
Would be the sweetest thing, 'twould make me sing,
Ah, but I may as well, try and catch the wind....."

Donovan

................................................................................

Come away with me, to a world of our own

where we'll be happy, and the wild deer run free

we'll live in our secret haven, of tranquility and serenity

and watch the skylarks spiralling high, with liquid bubbling call

as Atlantic coasters come rolling in, with thunderous roar and spray

I'll take your tiny hand in mine, along the silver sands and dunes

and braid your lovely hair, with flowers so rare

we'll have not a care, as divine moments we will share

walking barefoot, through the sun kissed shallows on the shore

collecting precious stones, and seashells of ornate design

while a warm wind ripples, and skips along the bay

I'll show you the hidden island, where the gray seals love to bask

as dolphins and porpoises, swim freely in schools of mystique

and I'll kiss your sweet lips, for I know you are mine

exchanging lover's vows, that will stand the test of time

for we will have eons of time, to discover ourselves

journeying together, we'll sojourn so sublime

where the purple heather blooms, and golden gorze captivates

and the dunes stretch out, like pearls along the sea

our circles of fidelity, we'll pledge and bind to our God

and as you sit contentedly, in my reassuring arms

we'll gaze far out to sea, where the gannets skim the surface

lost and mesmerised, as infinity stands sentinel in silence

and you and I will know, as the sun blazes gloriously in the west

that nothing else matters, but you and I in eternal love

I unearthed "Catch the Wind" so that I might listen as I read...I remembered every word but didn't want them to compete with your delicately chosen ones. I may have drifted to a little Nora Jones in the process of rereading...and this deserves to be read and imagined over and over again.

Peter, the beach has never been more intimately suggestive with braided hair and bare feet, wet lips to kiss and seal the lover's vows as they pledge their eternal love before God, their necessary witness. Adults, almost as children carefree, in this pristenely penned scene where imagery is as sublime as the sincerity ringing clear this all encompassingly beautiful expression of love. Your lady must be ecstatic and eager to make this dream come true!

Love,

Taylor

A very sensous, romanntic serenade and magnificent portrayal of
sheer paradise, everlasting love encapsuled in the most enchanting
and stirring panorama of sea, sand..serenity... and abiding love
and devotion...ad infinitum! Descriptions are captivating and
enveloping; one can almost hear the lull and sway of wind..sea..
and lovers entwined in each others perpetual rhapsody. Great write.

Come away with me indeed!! As I read this, I was also listening to one of my favoritie contemporary pianist/composer and the magic of the two was astounding. The recipient of this beautiful love song is one lucky lady!

A gorgeously lyrical and romantically sublime write. COME AWAY WITH ME opens doors to the most loving chambers of the heart and generously invites the reader inside.

WOW!!!

When you find a love eternal then the world paints brilliance into your hearts and nothing can NOT be blissfully beautiful again. I'm a firm believer that through centuries we keep finding that love and that spirit again and again ....that's why dejavu has a meaning.
Peter...you are a charming man.
Shalom,
Susan

I love Donovan! But, oh my goodness, Peter, between the awe-inspiring beauty of your photograph, and beauty-inspiring awe of your words, your poetry is only surpassed by your grasp of genuine love!

"...and the dunes stretch out, like pearls along the sea
our circles of fidelity, we'll pledge and bind to our God..."

Glorious words, from a glorious Poet, amen.

Love&Blessings, Rhonda

And that, Peter, is so true, the love part. Such an overused word is love. To the point that it has almost lost its real meaning. But you know what its true meaning is, I have no doubt about that, you prove it in poetry often. Good write.
