Poem Artwork

I remember Paris in days gone by
The Champs Elysee, San Michelle,
And old Beaujolais wine.
And I recall that you were mine
In those Parisienne days.

Gary Moore

......................................................................................................

You and I together, on the continental sidewalks of Paris

sun drenched days, with the burgundy bougainvilleas in flower

taking pictures of you, on my camera phone

as you posed and pouted, against the river Seine

with the magical Eiffel Tower, dominating the frame

I fell in love with you, when Cupid fired his bow

as French accordions played, my cherie amour

sipping white veno, at the midnight Toulouse cafe

we toasted our glasses, and played teasing table games

as we celebrated wildly, under the Arch De Triumph

the bluebirds were singing, as we counted our blessings

on the Champs Elysee, we kissed and smiled

arm in arm, with not a care in the world

we skipped happily along, the boulevard wall

tasting and savoring, the thrill of passion's first bloom

romantic interludes, at the sassy Moulin De Rouge

our eyes were captured, as Eros wove his talismanic tale

we danced the sexy tango, in sensuous Gallic style

the prelude to consummation, under tha pale moonshine

when we loved until the morning came

with dawn's flickering golden light

and you and I were spellbound

in the eye of Venus's storm

Ah Paris...you've brought back so many memories touching poetically on almost every place I made a point to visit from the tour d'eiffle to the Moulin Pouge...to the lights of the city from sacré coeur. It was an amazing nineteenth summer. Thanks for the romantic rush Français, Peter!

Merci! HGay Paree and the city of love...you've given us the definition of this love city by writing a pen of your own experience and one that sure makes me want to hop a jet, fly to Paris and find that romance myself. Great offering Peter.

Ah, gay Paree! Used to want to visit the city of intellectuals and wanton women, but these days, I think I will refrain. Still, the city does have its obvious charms and it must be a lovers' delight. I know one thing, I enjoyed this trip there, as always you give the reader much more than he was expecting.

Wow ...

You always weave such assimilable scenes. It's almost uncanny sometimes how you actually feel like you're there with you.

This was a lovely and colorful memory Sir Peter. Marvelously done and especially appreciated because of how it moved upon the soul and senses.

Blessings ...
