There once was a boy who lived in Hard Knocks
Who thought he was more than he ought
With a mother so pampering
And a father gone scampering
The boy was the wurst little brat.
When grown he became
He was seemingly tame
But that was only a ruse,
Underneath the veneer
Something darkly austere
Hid from all and everyone he knew.
But his behavior took him down
Making him need to leave town
In utter and shameful disgrace,
Crushing the hopes of his wife
For a good marriage and life
That was healthy and balanced and fair.
On the last awful day as they parted ways
His wife said to his pouting jerk of a face,
“Your heart’s no longer mine, you might regret this sometime
But I see a soul that’s gone ugly and frozen.
So here is my wish, just remember this —
“May you be happy in the life you have chosen.”
Bad behavior never did anyone any good.
