Such a truthful resonance has this group of sentences that poetically asks us to read, think and feel beyond what might be our first instinct to read and move on. This, however, like most of your postings are deserving of 2nd and 3rd readings, as you inevitably layer your work with multiple meanings. In the case of "Genuflecting," how many such persons do we know, do we respond to, or risk calling them for what they are? Another gem of thought channeled through that needle of your mind, where threading seems so natural and the resultant tapestry of lexiconic erudition is such a reward. Kudos once again.
Seems you are targeting Christians. I believe real love is unconditional. It is neither aroused nor diminished by another's opinions, value, behavior, or qualities. It is a spontaneous gift that seeks nothing in return. It's difficult, and perhaps for some an idealism, and perhaps for others impossible, but (in context to the spirit of this piece) perhaps one should learn the song of another's heart, and then sing it back to them when they have misplaced it, or forgotten it.
