Let’s Wrap Ourselves In It.

Poem Artwork

{This is the piano I now know. I let my mother's piano go, it's bridge was cracked beyond repair; and so I play my pieces here, where...one by one, I turn my worry into fun.}

Music In A Poem

Old tin cake pan, old wooden spoon
before long we’re learning a simple tune

Together we sing little primary songs
which grow to chorus practice all night long

Clarinet, violin, piano, harmonica
strung like beads of bright zirconia

Sparkling out these brilliant tones
someone else’s or just my own

Today I cloak in musical beauty
when hands can’t work, when eyes can’t see
when my face no longer looks like me
when earth’s blender speed is stuck on whip
when news and knowing I must choose to skip
when sense no longer makes itself,
and the world’s woes I can not help,
gorgeous voices, many violins
fill my awareness to the brim
with all the music I can fit in.

Remember our voices we always carry,
so let our songs be our sanctuary.

OUR MUSIC, THAT IS...OUR 'SONGS'...ARE DEFINITELY MUCH MORE THAN JUST BARS AND SYMBOLS. FOR WE...SING...IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS! VERY MUCH ENJOYED THIS KEEPER. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

When all else fails to move…music always
wins through…as you so aptly illustrate…
Those higher vibrations are promptly stimulated and
the cocktail of complicated chemicals within
us rearranges itself for our utter enjoyment…
Sheer Magic … just like your poem Diana…

Your exploration of music has such a vast impact on those of us who, like you, have learned to allow music to be a voice-resounding with inordinate power. Unfortunately, far too many so-called music lovers, handicapped with mistaking noise as music, find for one reason or another, confusion prevailing when trying to comprehend the saying: "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" Many of us hear music as sound coming from unexpected places perhaps due to allowing senses to proliferate life, or... maybe because we're thought of as nuts.

So briefly and beautifully revealed.

Yes music is the salve that soothes our minds through all the trials and tribulations of life. And gets more important as we age.

I failed piano at seven years of age. And most other musical instruments that I tried. But I've always loved to sing and listen to music in my car when I was going someplace alone.

Music really does save the day, as you beautifully suggest here in this lovely poem. I often have some kind of music soft in the background when writing my poems. It stirs a moody indulgence of mind that often helps set the tone for what I am doing.
