The profile of your face Burned in my mind The sensation of bristly skin Still felt pressed against my body Reminding me of our closeness Sparkling eyes lost in wonder As you tell me stories Overwhelmed by your laughter Engulfed in your dreams The stroke that makes me quiver In ecstasy when you caress me The warmth of your arms Embracing me in love Distance overwhelms But memories cannot destroy That which is carved Into my being And remains Forever in me Whether together or apart
