Some of us tread the skin of this earth lightly.. so lightly, we leave no traces.. matter so little...like water bugs, barely a ripple disturbs the surface.

Poem Artwork

She walks this earth lightly,

a water bug skimming...

leaving no trace of her being,

as she gently makes her quiet way

through life's treacheries.

Her dark eyes.. huge with knowing,

See beyond the masks others wear.

Discerning the purply inky shadows

beneath their smiling faces.

She is loved lightly... carelessly,

more for what she gives, than for herself

A graceful puppet skating life's stage,

with her audience of the needy and greedy.

Yet.. when  Spring's gentle winds

caress her solemn face

and the soft warmth of the sun enfolds her

in sweet silent solitude..

there is joy.

Laughing daffodils nod their frilled heads

the scarlet roses open their fragrant hearts in welcome

the dark fecund earth spills it's secrets,

until she knows...

Happiness is a fairy thing..

ephemeral as life itself,

found in the small blessings

and the quiet places of the heart.

Then.. she dances..

under the moonlit sky and rustlings of new life..

freed from the pain

of careless love.
